自民党の総裁選は「国民不在の選挙」
明日10月4日、自民党の総裁選が行われます。勝者は事実上、日本の首相となります。けれども決めるのは党所属の議員票と党員票だけ。国民が直接選ぶわけではありません。ここに私は大きな違和感を覚えます。
国民生活よりも党内の論理
物価高、少子高齢化、地域の疲弊、外交不安――課題は山積みです。それでも総裁選の議論を聞いていると、国民の生活を直視するより「派閥の駆け引き」「党内の権力バランス」にばかり重きが置かれていると感じます。
外国人問題に目をつぶる政治
いま政府は人手不足を理由に外国人労働者や移民の受け入れを拡大しようとしています。確かに企業は人材を求めていますが、その一方で地域社会では不安や摩擦が現実に起きています。治安や文化摩擦の懸念に耳を傾けず、ただ「労働力の数合わせ」だけで政策を進めるのは危ういと私は思います。
政治がやるべきは、まず国民に丁寧に説明し、受け入れの仕組みや生活基盤を整えることです。それを怠ったままでは、日本の地域社会や文化そのものが揺らいでしまいます。
私の本音 ― 誰にも期待していない
正直に言います。私は今回の総裁選に誰一人として期待していません。
理由は明確です。自民党そのものがすでに国民の方を向いていないから。国民生活よりも党の事情、派閥の計算、そして短期的な対策ばかりが優先される政治。このままでは日本は本当に「なくなってしまう」とさえ感じています。

明日、新しい総裁＝新しい首相が誕生します。しかし大切なのは「誰になるか」ではなく、「この国の政治が国民の方を向くかどうか」です。
私は今回の総裁選を、ただのニュースとして受け流すのではなく、危機感を持って見つめたい。そして一人ひとりが声をあげ、選挙で意思を示すことでしか、この国を守る道はありません。

An Election Without the People
On October 4, the Liberal Democratic Party will hold its leadership election. The winner will effectively become Japan’s next Prime Minister. Yet, the decision is made only by LDP lawmakers and party members — not by the public. To me, this feels far removed from true democracy.
Party Politics Over People’s Lives
Rising prices, aging population, rural decline, and international tensions — Japan faces enormous challenges. Still, the debates in this leadership race seem focused more on “factional bargaining” and “power balance within the party” than on the everyday struggles of ordinary citizens.
Ignoring the Foreign Labor Issue
The government is expanding the acceptance of foreign workers and immigrants, citing labor shortages. While businesses demand manpower, communities on the ground face real concerns — social friction, safety, and cultural clashes. Ignoring these issues and treating people as mere numbers to fill labor gaps is reckless.
What politics should do first is provide clear explanations to citizens and build proper systems for integration. Without this, Japan’s communities and cultural foundation may begin to erode.
My Honest View — I Expect Nothing
To be frank, I expect nothing from this leadership election. None of the candidates represent the people’s real voice.
The LDP has long turned away from the public, prioritizing its own factions, short-term tactics, and internal power struggles over the well-being of its citizens. If this continues, I fear Japan itself may disappear.
Conclusion — Protecting Japan Is Our Responsibility
Tomorrow, a new LDP leader — and Japan’s new Prime Minister — will be chosen. But what matters is not who takes office, but whether politics will finally turn to face the people.
We cannot afford to treat this as just another piece of news. We must watch with urgency, raise our voices, and use our votes to express our will.

“Do you really think this is acceptable?”
The future of Japan will not be decided by politicians alone — it will be decided by us, the people.
