In the face of extreme danger, not knowing if they would survive the next moment, they raised their voices in a powerful anthem. That scene captures more than just teamwork; it embodies a profound sense of mission and the courage to light the way for Japan’s future.
As I was soaking in the emotions of the film, some incredible news broke:
“Tanker Idemitsu Maru successfully passes through the Strait of Hormuz.”
After being stranded in the Persian Gulf for two months due to the escalating tensions in the Middle East, the Idemitsu Maru is finally heading home to Japan.
This feels like a modern-day “Nissho Maru Incident.” The courage shown by the ancestors who sailed to Iran against all odds created a bond of trust that still protects Japanese vessels today. It’s as if the past and the present are connected by an invisible thread of friendship.
Reflecting on the movie and this news, I am filled with one overwhelming emotion: Gratitude.
The electricity and fuel we use so casually every day are only available because of the risks taken by those before us—and the brave crews who are on the ocean right now, navigating through uncertainty to support our lives.
The Idemitsu Maru is expected to arrive in Japan in mid-May with 2 million barrels of crude oil.
To the pioneers who built the foundation of our country, and to the modern-day heroes currently sailing the rough seas: Thank you for bringing hope to Japan. We are waiting for your safe return!
海賊とよばれた男』と現代の出光丸。海を越えて届く「感謝」のバトン
久しぶりに映画**『海賊とよばれた男』**を観直しました。何度観ても、やっぱりあのシーンで涙が止まらなくなります。
それは、船員たちが一丸となって**「海の唄（社歌）」**を歌う場面。
いつ攻撃されるかわからない、死と隣り合わせの極限状態。それでも恐怖を振り払うように、明日を信じて声を張り上げるあの一体感。あの歌声には、単なる仕事を超えた「日本のために」という凄まじい使命感が宿っていました。
そんな映画の余韻に浸っていたら、驚くようなニュースが飛び込んできました。
「タンカー『出光丸』、ホルムズ海峡を通過」
緊迫する中東情勢の中、ペルシャ湾で2ヶ月も足止めされていた出光丸が、ついに日本へ向けて動き出したというのです。
これって、まさに現代版の「日章丸事件」ですよね。
かつて国岡鐵造が、国際封鎖を突破してイランへ船を走らせたあの勇気。その時に築いたイランとの信頼関係が、令和の今、再び日本の船を守ってくれた……。時代を超えた絆を感じずにはいられません。
映画を観て、そして今のニュースを知って、心から思うことがあります。
それは、**「先人たちへの尊敬」と「今を支えてくれる人への感謝」**です。
私たちが当たり前に使っている電気やガソリン。その裏には、かつて命懸けで海を拓いた先人たちがいて、そして今この瞬間も、リスクを背負って巨大な船を動かし、日本へエネルギーを運んでくれている乗組員の方々がいます。
出光丸は、約200万バレルの原油を積んで、5月中旬に日本へ到着するそうです。
画面の中の物語と、今まさに海の上で起きている現実。
その両方に思いを馳せながら、日本に帰ってくる出光丸に、心の中で精一杯の声を届けたいと思います。
「日本のために、ありがとう。無事の帰港を待っています！」
